A Simple Transition to Enhanced Electric Valve Performance.

For OEMs, reliability is non-negotiable. Leaks, failures, and unexpected downtime create costs that ripple through your operation and your customers' businesses.

That's why Banjo now offers the KZ ZIPValve as the replacement for the retired LEV electric valve family. Available directly through Banjo, the KZ ZIPValve delivers enhanced performance, expanded environmental ratings, and flexible configuration options while maintaining the same trusted purchasing relationship and application support you've relied on from Banjo.

Why OEM Requirements Have Changed

Today's OEMs face increasing pressure to design equipment that performs reliably in harsher environments, supports multiple voltage platforms, and simplifies serviceability in the field.

Electric valves are expected to do more than simply open and close. They must withstand moisture, vibration, temperature swings, and increasingly demanding application requirements while minimizing maintenance and downtime.

That's why the KZ ZIPValve was selected as the successor to the LEV family. Designed to meet modern OEM requirements, it delivers faster response times, enhanced environmental protection, ignition-safe certifications, and a modular architecture that simplifies system design and serviceability.

Transitioning from LEV to KZ ZIPValve

As part of Banjo's expanded partnership with KZ, the ZIPValve is now the standard electric valve for lines smaller than 3/4" available through Banjo. The LEV family has been fully retired.

Designed to be straightforward, you can purchase the KZ ZIPValve directly through Banjo and continue working with the same team for application support, quoting, and ordering. There is no new supplier to qualify, no new purchasing process to implement, and no changes to your existing Banjo relationship.

The cross-reference table below identifies the appropriate ZIPValve replacement, fitting kit, and wire harness for each LEV model, helping make your BOM update as seamless as possible.

*Note: LEV038PL already utilizes a push-lock connection. No fitting kit is required for its ZIPValve replacement.

Why the KZ ZIPValve Is an Ideal Electric Valve for OEM Applications

Rather than simply replacing the LEV family, the KZ ZIPValve expands what's possible for OEM designers with faster response times, enhanced environmental protection, ignition-safe certifications, and a flexible modular architecture.

Faster Shut-Off Response

The ZIPValve closes in 0.2 seconds compared to 0.33 seconds for the LEV family.

For applications such as irrigation systems, spray equipment, aquaculture systems, and fluid distribution networks, faster shut-off can help reduce water hammer effects and improve overall system protection.

One Valve for 12V and 24V Systems

The ZIPValve operates on both 12 and 24 VDC power systems, helping OEMs simplify product platforms and reduce the number of valve configurations required across multiple machine designs.

Low Power Consumption

For battery-powered and solar-powered equipment, minimizing power draw is critical. The ZIPValve's low continuous power requirements help support efficient system design in remote and mobile applications.

Compact Design with High Flow Capability

The ZIPValve delivers high flow performance while maintaining a compact footprint, helping engineers maximize available space and simplify equipment layouts.

Integrated LED Diagnostics

Built-in LED indication provides visual confirmation of valve status and fault conditions, helping operators and technicians quickly diagnose issues in the field.

IP68 / NEMA 6P Protection

The ZIPValve is rated IP68 and NEMA 6P for demanding environments where moisture exposure is common.

Whether installed on agricultural equipment exposed to rainfall, systems operating in humid environments, or applications where water contact is unavoidable, the ZIPValve is designed to provide dependable operation.

NEMA 7D Certification

The ZIPValve is also rated NEMA 7D for use in environments containing ignitable concentrations of Group D gases and vapors.

This expanded certification makes the valve suitable for a broader range of industrial applications, including certain oil and gas environments where ignition-safe components are required.

Flexible Modularity for OEM Design

The KZ ZIPValve utilizes a modular architecture consisting of three components:

  • Base valve
  • Adapter kit
  • Wire harness

This approach gives OEMs greater flexibility while reducing the number of valve configurations that must be stocked and managed.

Start with the base valve, select the appropriate adapter kit for the plumbing connection, and choose the wire harness that matches your electrical interface.

Adapter kits are available for multiple quick-disconnect configurations.

Wire harness options include:

  • Integrated Deutsch receptacle (standard)
  • Flying leads
  • Deutsch 4-pin
  • WeatherPak

This flexibility allows OEMs to adapt the valve to existing equipment designs while simplifying future design updates and service requirements.

If a fitting or harness is damaged in the field, it can be replaced independently rather than replacing the entire valve assembly.
